Residents invited to discuss housing needs in Post Falls open house
POST FALLS — Post Falls residents are invited to participate in a housing needs assessment open house 6-8 p.m. today at City Hall.
Discussions will cover home buying, the rental market and current issues residents face in Post Falls.
The priorities of the next five, 10 and 15 years will also be covered in talks.
City officials are interested to learn what types of housing barriers exist and what type of housing options are missing from the current blueprint.
The assessment is data driven and gives an opportunity for residents interested to express their concerns on housing to voice them.
Because the event is just an open house, it will not be recorded.
Post Falls is also in the early stages in completing a fiscal impact analysis report, which along with the housing needs assessment will be incorporated into the comprehensive plan.
The intention is to improve economic and housing policies as part of the comprehensive plan update to ensure future growth is responsibly handled.
The results are also expected to impact future land use policies.
