Post Falls seeks to fill council seat

The city of Post Falls is seeking to fill a vacancy on the City Council left after Kenny Shove announced Nov. 1 that he was moving out of Post Falls and could no longer serve as councilor.  

Mayor Ron Jacobson invites residents to apply for seat six. The mayor will select three finalist candidates. The councilor appointed to the position will be up for election in 2025 and serve until January 2026. 

Preferred qualifications include past service on boards or commissions and active engagement with the community.

Applicants must be 18 years old and U.S. citizens who have resided in Post Falls for at least 30 days before applying and registering as voters. 

Resume, cover letter and references must be submitted by Nov. 18 at City Hall or by email, cityclerk@postfalls.gov.
