Lookout to open Friday

| November 7, 2024 1:06 AM

Lookout Pass will be open for skiers from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.

“With the recent snowstorms depositing 14 inches to 36 inches of snow on the mountain, and with more snow pending, the mountain is ready to welcome skiers and riders," said Brian Bressel, general manager. "Stoke is indeed high, and we’ve got enough early-season snow to offer a fun product for our enthusiastic early-season diehards.”

Ski Lookout Pass will have most of the 14 trails on the front of the mountain open and available Friday, with a few runs groomed just prior to opening, a press release said.

For Saturday and Sunday, in addition to the Chair No. 1 offering, the mountain will open most of the 14 trails served by our Eagle Peak Quad (Chair No. 5) along with trails upper Rainbow Ridge and Tamarack that will usher guests over to Chair No. 5. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.

Lift tickets will be $30 for adults, military or college students, and $25 for youth and seniors Friday. Ticket prices Saturday or Sunday will be $47 for adults, military or college students, and $35 for youth and seniors. The Timberwolf Triple (Chair No. 2) will operate only to transport guests back from the Eagle Peak Quad (Chair No. 5) to the front side of the mountain.

Skiers and riders should expect early-season conditions with potential for bare or thin areas to develop and potential obstacles to exist, the release said.

"With more snow in the forecast, the start of the promising La Niña winter is adding a nice pre-Christmas glimmer to what is being touted by many forecasters as 'A winter to remember,'" the release said.

The mountain will be closed Monday through Thursday, with plans to reopen next weekend.
