Upcoming Veterans Day events
A multitude of events will be held across North Idaho leading up to and on Veterans Day in honor of the service and sacrifice of our military heroes.
Nov. 7
Veteran Stand Down | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Veterans of Foreign Wars 1675, 318 E. Mullan Ave., Osburn. State and county service officers will be present. Clothing, blankets, personal hygiene items, fuel cards and grocery cards will be distributed to veterans. Prior to the event, coats, bedding and socks are being collected at the Osburn VFW.
Nov. 8
Monthly veterans social | 4 to 7 p.m., Veterans of Foreign Wars 1675, 318 E. Mullan Ave., Osburn. Hamburgers and bratwurst will be available for participating veterans.
Nov. 9
Wills for Warriors | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., 8596 N. Wayne Drive, Hayden. Veterans can receive assistance drafting wills. Contact Nick Newby at nnewby@elagacylaw.com or 888-308-7526.
Veterans Recognition Ceremony | 11 a.m., Lakeland High School commons, 7006 W. Highway 53, Rathdrum. Doors open at 10 a.m. All veterans and families welcome. Free lunch at noon. Sponsored by American Legion Post 154, Northwest Guardian Riders and the city of Rathdrum.
Nov. 11, Veterans Day
Hayden Veterans Day celebration | 11 a.m., McIntire Family Park, 8930 N. Government Way, Hayden. Singing and percussion performances. Refreshments will be provided by the Vine Church. Robert O. Martin will be recognized as the 2024 Distinguished Veteran of the Year and guest speaker for this year’s ceremony.
VFW 1675 Veterans Day Ceremony | 11 a.m., Nov. 11, Silver Valley Veterans Memorial, Hill Street and Railroad Avenue, Kellogg. A chili feed with hot dogs and hamburgers will take place after the ceremony at 11:30 a.m. at the Osburn VFW, 318 E. Mullan Ave.
