Spirit Lake Police ask for public's help identifying woman impersonating code officer

SPIRIT LAKE — Spirit Lake Police Department is asking for help locating a woman claiming to be a code enforcement officer. 

Chief Mike Morlen said residents in the area reported the suspicious behavior. 

“We’re asking for the public’s help because she’s gone on several people’s properties taking pictures,” Morlen said.

Witness descriptions say she is a white woman in her 30s or 40s with long, curly brown hair in a ponytail. She has been seen wearing a baseball cap with an unknown emblem.

Morlen also said that another woman in the area is working for the banks and has clearance to document properties.
