THANKS: Standing up for Stand Down

Being a member of our local American Legion Post 154, I have had the opportunity to be a part of honoring our veterans at the Stand-Down for several years.

This year really stood out in the generosity of businesses and individuals as they provided so many things that our veterans need. I worked on a Board of Directors for a food bank in another area and was delighted to see the amount of food that was brought in to give to those who needed it. Not only were they fed a great lunch but they were given food to take home.

Many other services were supplied that several would not be able to afford. The venue at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds was perfect and it allowed plenty of room to have everything set up in one building.
