ECONOMICS: Paint an accurate picture

In the May 2 article “Little touts support for education…” our governor continues to display his willful ignorance of the true economic condition of our state.

He told the students, “…you will want to stay in Idaho.” 

Yeah, you may want to stay in Idaho, but you won’t be able to. You may want to stay in your community but you won’t be able to afford either the rent or the mortgage payment required. You may want to stay close to your family but they’ve already got theirs and they can’t afford to share it with you. 

And your “rewarding” career will have to be non-monetary because, in our so-called “right-to-work” state that clings to a $7.25 minimum wage, yours will have to be a “labor of love.”

Oh, and speaking of labor…thanks to the regressive Republicans (excuse the redundancy) who run our state, if you are wanting to have a family anytime soon, you won’t be able to do that in Idaho either, since the OB/GYN doctors have been chased out of the state due to our legislators’ deluded religious beliefs. 

We have simply got to put these political Neanderthals out of office in November.
