ELECTION: Let’s get back to normal
Until recently I paid no attention to Precinct Committeemen. That was before the turmoil on the NIC Board, whose meetings I have been attending. That’s when I came to understand their importance; while I was paying no attention the zealots took over. I’m back in the game now and I hope you are too. It’s time to return to normal.
I was surprised at how many candidates I know. I first met Dave Patzer through the snowmobile community. The real link however is through our wives, who shared more than two decades as employees of Lakeland School District. We often sit together at the NIC Board meetings. Dave is as disgusted as most of us with the dysfunction of that board, and he will do all he can to change it. Dave is a common sense, hardworking, community-oriented guy demonstrating respect and collaboration. He will be a strong advocate for nonpartisanship on local boards.
Bob Kasun was the hydrologist for most of the 23 years I worked on the Idaho Panhandle National Forest, but mostly I know Bob from his music. He was always the entertainment at potlucks, retirement parties and other gatherings. I can assure you he is responsible, good with people and yet another voice for respect and collaboration.
Pete Erbland has been to my house twice since announcing his candidacy. He has convinced me that a vote for him is a vote for respect and a return to normal.
Before voting on May 21, please look closely at your Precinct Committeemen choices and pick the one who will return our community and politics to normal. Please vote.
