RACISM: Hatred growing in Lake City
When the city of Coeur d’Alene last week failed to criminally charge, or in some other manner, address the situation regarding screaming racist taunts and threatening gestures toward college visitors to Coeur d’Alene, I’m sad to say it only reaffirmed my family’s decision to move from Coeur d’Alene to Spokane Valley in 2023.
You could see and feel the growing hate and bigotry in the city and region over the past few years even though those emotions and actions are clearly un-American, un-Godly, cruel, and deny the basic dignity and respect all Americans are promised under the Constitution.
And when the best person the local Republican Party can bring in to speak about values, building unity and working toward a better future for our children is Marjorie Greene, Coeur d’Alene, the county and region have some serious, serious problems to address.
Idaho and Coeur d’Alene are both beautiful places and have some wonderful citizens, but the person(s) who disrespected and offended our visitors simply because of the color of their skin are not in that group.
