Jacob Folkestad, 30

Jacob Alan Folkestad, affectionately known as Jake, of Hauser, Idaho, passed away May 9, 2024. Jake was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to Alan and Denise Folkestad on May 13, 1993. He graduated from Mountain View High School in 2011.

Jake was great at working with his hands. He was a certified welder and could do any building projects. He was working toward becoming a volunteer firefighter while working full time. He loved the outdoors and had many hobbies. He loved to learn new things.

Jake was known for his kind heart, quick wit, and infectious smile. He was an avid chess player and could outplay anyone in the family. Jake left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He was known for showing love and compassion to others.  

Jake was preceded in death by his grandparents (Nell and Don Johnson, Aaron Folkestad, Joe Chopp), and father (Alan Folkestad). He is survived by his Grandmother (Nancy), his mother and stepfather (Denise and Kerry), his sister (Heather) and many other family members who loved him.

His ashes will be scattered at Moon Pass on Wednesday, May 15, followed by a celebration of life at 6 p.m. at O’Malleys Sports Pub & Grill (13742 W. Highway 53, Rathdrum, Idaho). Friends and family are welcome. 

In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation in his name to Idaho Fish and Wildlife or the Volunteer Fire Department in Hauser, Idaho.
