PRECINCT: Failure of a smear tactic
I am running as a precinct committeeman in Precinct 510 representing the Idaho Republican Party during the primary election on May 21.
My opponent, John Moore, states on his campaign flier that I received $500 from the Kootenai County Democratic Central Committee and that I am a Democrat that’s infiltrating the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee by switching parties to run as a Republican.
However, if Mr. Moore and his backers had done their homework, they would have realized that the payment was from a function by the Kootenai County Democratic Central Committee last July, which our band provided the musical entertainment for. I was paid $100 and the rest of the money went to the other band members for compensation for that entertainment.
I have been a professional musician close to 50 years in Kootenai County and throughout that time have provided musical entertainment for both Democratic and Republican events. Never have I turned down an opportunity to provide good entertainment based on the hiring person/group’s race, religion or political affiliation. There has never been any kind of political agenda on my part at these events.
I am a registered Republican and the reason I am running as a precinct committeeman is that I know we can do a lot better job than what the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee has done the last two years. This is just another low blow tactic on their part to convince voters to continue to support their agenda.
Please vote on May 21 for a more healthy local political environment.
