ELECTION: Something to believe in

| May 10, 2024 1:00 AM

I guess I’m proud to be a RINO or at least the way the current leadership of the KCRCC defines it.

I believe in government for the people by the people, not in a caucus system where less than 10% of the eligible voters vote and where many people (eg. working folks and service members) are excluded.

I believe in separation of church and state, and I believe in religious freedom, not one way, my way or the highway.

I believe in elected officials who are competent, qualified and believe in service to their community, not in using their office to enrich their friends with high paying positions.

I believe our leaders should try to limit expenses and not waste our tax dollars like the trouble-causing, current NIC trustees and CLN library trustees (all who have been rated and vetted by the KCRCC).

I believe it is the parents’ job, not the government’s, to raise their children. We do not need a nanny state where what we read and view is censored by government bodies.

I believe public education is essential to maintain our form of government and schools should educate, not indoctrinate with wokeness or religious fundamentalism.

If you believe as I do, even a little, the election on the 21st is critical. I feel the candidates for precinct chairs put forth by the North Idaho Republicans is a who’s who of longtime residents that have a history of public, not self-serving, service to our communities.

Please join me in voting out the radical right-wing extremist that is currently your precinct chair and elect a person who truly cares about our community, our welfare and our pocketbook, not a right-wing political ideology.
