INITIATIVE: Check it out for yourself
An unsolicited political tabloid that arrived recently in my mailbox contains the claim that the organizations promoting the Open Primaries initiative have not posted the text of the initiative on their websites. This is misleading.
Since last summer Idahoans for Open Primaries, the coalition supporting the Open Primaries ballot initiative, has maintained a website where you can read and even print a copy of the initiative: openprimariesid.org. At least half of the members of the coalition have links to this site from their websites. The volunteers gathering signatures have provided people who want additional information with handouts containing the website address.
The Idahoans for Open Primaries website has lots of other information about the initiative: names of organizations in the coalition, rationales for the proposed changes, explanations of how this new kind of primary will work and FAQs, as well as links to ask questions, donate or request speakers.
Check it out — openprimariesid.org. Let’s have an informed discussion about open primaries and be prepared to vote on this important issue in November.
