| March 22, 2024 1:00 AM

We regret to announce the passing of Wallace Idaho Capparelli, 86, who passed away peacefully Feb. 16, 2024, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, at Kootenai Health.

Wallace, or Jim is what his family and friends called him, worked at the Sunshine Mine up Big Creek around 1960. In 1971, he worked for the Shoshone County Road District in Murray, Idaho, as a mechanic. After a while, he started working in Wallace, Idaho, for the school district bus barn as the supervisor. Following that, he retired in the early '80s to enjoy the rest of his life.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jim was a traveler. He could never seem to stay in one place for too long. In 1971, he moved his family, Shirley and the three kids, to Beaver Creek. From 1981 to 2003, while with Judy Riley, he lived in three different locations in the Silver Valley 'til 2001, then moved to Coeur d'Alene on 15th Street 'til around 2003. He then ventured back to the Silver Valley, where he bought a house in Silverton with Sharron Hiatt. After a couple of years, they moved to Blanchard, Idaho, where they would stay for a while, and then ended up in Hayden, Idaho, where they would live the remainder of their lives.

In his free time with his wife and kids, Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, getting firewood, snowmobiling and just all the northern Idaho activities. He also enjoyed collecting guns and target practice. Having cows, chickens and a beautiful garden was always an enjoyment as well.

Wallace Idaho Capparelli is survived by his sister, Louise Graffenberger, three children, Corlina Capparelli, Jim Capparelli and Tam Scheel with her husband Carl Scheel, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Johnny, June, Art, Charles, Junior, Donald and Louis.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through his family and friends.
