Claire McDonald, 79
Claire Lillete McDonald, 79, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away March 2, 2024. She was born Feb. 16, 1945, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to Isaac and Edna Lucas.
Claire and her husband, Gary, were married Nov. 26, 1969, in Spokane, Wash. Claire was a great wife, mother and homemaker: She was a wonderful cook and baker and shared her love of food with her children by teaching them how to cook. Claire loved being outdoors, she especially loved fishing and gardening; she played softball in her youth. Claire was an extremely smart and honest woman. She was skilled at sewing and made some of her own clothes and clothes for her family. Claire was an active and contributing member of the Community of Christ. Claire had an unusual blood type and was always willing to donate as often as she was called upon. She gave back to her community through church, blood donations and volunteering for youth organizations.
Claire was a member of the Mayflower Genealogical Society and enjoyed researching family records. She met many family members through her genealogy work. Claire loved puzzles, games, and spending time with her family. There was nothing that Claire loved more than her family and friends. She will be forever missed and cherished.
Claire is survived by her husband, Gary McDonald, daughter Lisa Fritz, son Ryan McDonald, daughter Kim McAlpin (Ken), grandchildren Karen McDonald, Tyler Owen, Alyssa Fritz and Anthony Fritz, and sister Gayle Erickson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Edna Lucas, and sister Vergene Mumper.
Celebration of life will be held at the Mission Woods Community of Christ Church on March 23, 2024, at 1 p.m.
