COEUR d'ALENE —  The inaugural "Community Conversations: The Health of Our Community," is scheduled Thursday, March 21, at North Idaho College.

The free quarterly forum series aims to provide an understanding of the connections between education, health care, and business. It will focus on "Labor Force Challenges and Successes at Play in our Community."

"We are excited to launch the 'Community Conversations' forum series, which brings together key stakeholders to address pressing issues impacting our community's health," said Linda Coppess, president/CEO at Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber in a press release. "By delving into the intersections of education, health care, and business, we aim to foster dialogue, understanding, and collaborative solutions that contribute to our community's access to essential resources."

The event is organized by North Idaho College, Kootenai Health and the Coeur d'Alene Regional Chamber.

NIC President Nick Swayne said NIC has a close relationship with health care in the region.

“It’s in everyone’s best interest to make sure that relationship is strong and sustainable for when you or your family members need health services," he said.

Community Conversations will spotlight risk areas, emphasize the collaborative efforts necessary for building resilient systems and highlight the impact on the community's health.

“By fostering these connections, we strengthen our ability to address the challenges facing our community's workforce and promote sustainable solutions for the future and betterment of our community," said Eva Hernandez, executive director of people for Kootenai Health.

The forum will feature expert panelists, interactive discussions and opportunities for audience participation. Attendees will have the chance to engage with senior leaders, share perspectives and contribute to conversations aimed at addressing issues affecting the community.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for members of the community to share their thoughts, ask questions, and listen to key stakeholders in local health sectors,” Swayne said.

It is scheduled from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Lake Coeur d’Alene Room at the Edminster Student Union Building.
