Steven E. Eller, 70

Steven E. Eller unexpectedly entered into eternal rest Jan. 15, 2024.

Born to Orville and Lois on Nov. 13, 1953, in Lewiston, Idaho. Steve was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister Lorraine and brother Don. Also, many extended relatives and friends have passed before him.

He lived in Kooskia, Idaho, until graduating from CVHS in 1972. He then entered the USAF from 1972-1976.

He married Pamela Huhta on Aug. 4, 1973, in Harpster, Idaho. They celebrated 50 years in 2023. They resided in Maryland, Thailand and Texas until September 1976, returning to Idaho.

Daughter Melissa was born in San Antonio, Texas, in August 1976. Son Chris was born in Clarkston, Wash., in January 1978.

Steve worked at Jaypel Potlatch for two years before starting a logging career as a timber faller. In 1998, long-haul trucking lured him away until retiring. His wife, Pam, joined him as a team driver. He loved being a “paid tourist.” Granddaughter Alexis joined them in the summers for nine years, from 5 to 14 years old. She experienced 47 states with her grandpa.

Steve was also a “weekend warrior” traveling the back roads of Idaho and Montana, fishing, hunting, hiking and shed hunting. His wife and some of his grands enjoyed this with him.

The survivors are his wife, daughter and son (wife Martha). There are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Alexis (Brandon), Pierce, Cash, Dylan, Logan, Jimi and Amber. Great-grandchildren Adeyn, Floki, Zariyah, Hailie, Waylon, Dylan and Braydon.

A celebration of life will be held July 20, 2024, on the Coeur d’Alene River (Chris’ property) the information will be on Facebook (Martha, Alexis, Pam).
