PREP ROUNDUP: Timberlake baseball, softball teams first in area to open seasons

• BASEBALL

LEWISTON — The visiting Timberlake Tigers were held to one hit in two games in falling to the Moscow Bears 4-0 and 10-0 in their season opener Thursday at Clearwater Park.

Ethan Pecor had the lone hit on the day for Timberlake, a single in the fourth inning of the second game. 

Ethan McLaughlin of Moscow had the game’s lone hit in the opener, a solo homer in the fourth inning. 

Caleb Robinett struck out eight, walked two and allowed one hit in the opener for the Tigers. Levi Anderson and Connor Isakson combined to strike out 15 in the no-hitter in the opener for the Bears.

Timberlake is scheduled to play host to Lakeland on Tuesday.

LEWISTON — The Bears, last year’s 4A Region 1 champions, swept the Tigers, last year’s 3A District 1 champ, in the season opener for both at Airport Park.

Jesi Kitchin went 2 for 4 with a triple and two runs scored for Timberlake in the second game. Acacia Pecor struck out eight in the opener for the Tigers.

Timberlake travels to St. Maries on Tuesday.
