KHQ/SWX and KREM 2/KSKN 22 to broadcast Spokane Velocity soccer games


KHQ/SWX will broadcast 14 home and away Spokane Velocity FC games this season, while KREM 2/KSKN 22 will broadcast 6 home games.

The only home match not broadcast locally will be Velocity FC vs. Union Omaha on Sept. 4 which will be on the CBS Sports Network.   

KREM 2/KSKN 22 and KHQ/SWX plan to air Velocity FC matches through the 2025 season. Velocity FC and these local stations will discuss renewal after the two years have passed.

EWU's Loera Earns MVP, Defensive Player of the Year honors


Eastern Washington's Jamie Loera was named Big Sky Conference women's basketball Most Valuable Player and All-Conference First Team. Loera was also named Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. 

Eastern Washington's Joddie Gleason was named Coach of the Year after leading the Eagles to their first regular season title in over a decade in just her third year at the helm of the program. 

Aaliyah Alexander of Eastern Washington and Kennedy Johnson of Idaho were also named to the all-Big Sky first team.

Jaleesa Lawrence of Eastern Washington was named to the second team.

Amalie Langer of Idaho was named to the all-defensive team.

The 2024 Big Sky Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships run Saturday through Wednesday at Idaho Central Arena in Boise. The tournament champions will receive automatic berths to the NCAA Tournament.

Former NIC standout Mims named to Big Sky men's all-defensive team

Idaho junior Julius Mims, who played the last two seasons at North Idaho College, was named to the Big Sky men's basketball all-defensive team.

David Riley of Eastern Washington shared Coach of the Year honors with Steve Smiley of Northern Colorado.

LeJuan Watts of Eastern was named Freshman of the Year.

Cedric Coward of EWU was named to the first team for the second straight year.

Ethan Price and Casey Jones of Eastern Washington were named to the second team.
