Darrin K. Lovitt, 50

Darrin Lovitt passed peacefully March 1, 2024, when his heart could not beat any longer, surrounded by his family and friends.

Darrin was born in Portland, Ore., on Oct. 17, 1973. He grew up with his parents, Robert and Judy Lovitt, in Pendleton, Ore., and Selah, Wash. He graduated from Selah High School in 1992 and then attended North Idaho College, as well as Warner Pacific College. He moved to Hayden, Idaho, in 1995, where he had spent much of his childhood.

He worked in all areas of retail management for 25 years before transitioning to the real estate industry in 2017.

Darrin married his wife, Katie (Rickerts), in August of 2005 in Coeur d’Alene. They built a beautiful life together with their daughter, Carly, and son, Blake, along with their amazing parents, family and friends that he loved so much.

They all enjoyed spending time together doing all the things he loved which included fishing, snowmobiling, boating, countless projects and especially watching his son play hockey.

He is survived by his wife, Katie; daughter Carly Ott; son Blake Lovitt; parents Robert and Judy Lovitt; sister Kimberly (Lovitt) Reynolds; brother-in-law Mike Reynolds; nieces Jordan and Emily Rose Reynolds; nephews Jeffrey and Braden Reynolds; father-in-law Steve Gerig; brother-in-law Ryan Rickerts; and niece Quincy Rickerts; as well as numerous extended family.

A celebration of Darrin’s life will be held in late June in Coeur d’Alene.

In lieu of flowers, financial contributions can be made in Darrin’s memory at Numerica Credit Union to benefit the future education of his amazing children.
