Leonard, a freshman, won the state 4A title at 113-pounds with an 8-3 win over Rydge Vail of Bonneville on Feb. 24 at the ICCU Dome in Pocatello. Leonard won his first two matches at state via a 13-0 major decision, and another by pin. “It was a good weekend for him,” Lakeland coach Will Edelblute said. “He’s been pretty dominant all season. The coaches were a little more excited after his win than he was, and he told us to settle down. We’re really proud of him.”
