| June 30, 2024 1:00 AM

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark O’Toole Knudsen, who tragically left this world June 4, 2024, in Meriden, Conn. Mark was born in San Pedro, Calif., on Dec. 14, 1969, to his loving parents Terry and Viviane Knudsen.

Mark’s life was filled with love, laughter and passion for his family and interests. He married Carla Morgan in Camino Island, Wash., on Jan. 11, 2020. Mark is survived by his devoted wife, Carla; his parents, Viviane and Terry Knudsen; his cherished children, Lauren and Maya Knudsen; his supportive sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Eric Paul; as well as his aunt and uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends and loved ones.

Throughout his life, Mark excelled in his professional career, leaving a lasting impact wherever he went. From his time in Hastings to his role as Sysco Director of Merchandising in the NYC Metro Region, Mark demonstrated his hard work, dedication and leadership skills. His colleagues remember him as a team leader who always went above and beyond to ensure the success of his projects.

Beyond his professional life, Mark had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He loved playing gold, attending concerts, cheering on UCLA football and watching bass fishing. He also had a keen eye for fashion, effortlessly transitioning from a sharp suit to a casual t-shirt and shorts, usually finishing his look with a baseball hat. He was there for anyone who needed a helping hand or a listening ear, no matter the size of their problems. Mark’s kind-hearted nature, compassionate soul and great sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the memorial service, which will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Yates Funeral Home — Hayden Chapel (373 E. Hayden Ave. Hayden, ID 83835). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (www.afsp.org) in Mark’s memory to support the crucial work of preventing further tragedies like his passing.

Mark’s absence leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his memory will forever be cherished. May he rest in peace, knowing he was loved and will be deeply missed.
