Georgia Kathleen Emch (Maher), 70
The world lost an amazing human being this past weekend. Georgia was an indomitable woman whose kindness and knowledge will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Georgia and her husband, Andy, have lived and been part of the North Idaho community for the last 30-plus years. They ran Creative Concrete for many of those years while raising their children. Georgia was an artist who sculpted and painted many statues that are still seen in gardens and yards to this day.
While art and gardening were two of Georgia’s favorite hobbies, some of her greatest joys in life came from spending time with her three grandsons. She fed them way too many cookies and brownies but never regretted it one bit. She also passed her love for projects onto her kids, grandkids and family. She was a wealth of knowledge and was a problem solver whether it was a task to be completed or a situation to be discussed — she was always willing to lend a hand. Her advice almost always started with “Dear Heart, have you …” Georgia was a mom to many because she loved and cared so deeply.
In the same way that she loved others, we all loved her so very deeply as well. Our family intends to hold a memorial service later this summer to celebrate Georgia’s life and share our stories of her. We ask, in lieu of sending flowers, that you would consider making a donation to the Hospice of North Idaho-Schneidmiller House.
Bell Tower Funeral Home is entrusted with Georgia's care.
