Coeur d'Alene Summer Shootout: Viking varsity boys, JV boys capture tourney titles
COEUR d'ALENE — Coeur d'Alene High won the boys varsity championship, as well as the junior varsity boys championship, as the fourth annual Coeur d'Alene Summer Shootout basketball tournament concluded Sunday.
Coeur d'Alene defeated Freeman in the varsity boys title game, and the Vikings downed Post Falls for the JV championship.
In the varsity boys division, the large school division winner played the small school division winner for the overall title.
A total of 84 teams signed up for the event, the largest field in its four years. Games were played on seven courts in the city — two at Coeur d'Alene High, Canfield Middle School and North Idaho College, and one at Dalton Elementary.
