Catherine 'Kit' Orth 

101st Birthday

The Renaissance Assisted Living and Memory Care is thrilled to celebrate the 101st birthday of our beloved resident, Catherine “Kit” Orth, on June 19, 2024. 

Kit was born in Turner, Mont., and has lived a remarkable life. She raised three children, persevered through the Dust Bowl and the Depression, and traveled the world with her husband, Donald, a retired Air Force Lt. Colonel (deceased). China holds a special place in her heart as her favorite place to live. 

An avid golfer, Kit says her greatest joy was teeing off with friends. Her sage advice for a long and happy life? “Stop worrying, it doesn’t solve a thing.” 

Kit credits her longevity to growing up on a farm where they raised all their own food. 

The Renaissance Assisted Living and Memory Care staff and residents surprised Kit with a birthday party June 19 to celebrate. 

"Celebrating our dear resident at Renaissance turning 101 is a true joy. Her ever-present big smile brightens our days and reminds us all of the simple joys in life,” said Barbara Clark, the community sales director at The Renaissance Assisted Living. “Her passion for puzzles is awe-inspiring, as she effortlessly completes them with a keen mind and unmatched enthusiasm. At 101, she truly runs circles around me with her sharp intellect and vibrant spirit. Her presence adds immeasurable value to our community, and we are so fortunate to have her with us. Happy 101st birthday, Kit!”
