The Treehouse opens in Coeur d'Alene
With a unique blend of delectable mouthwatering dishes with a fun twist on shareable food items and handcrafted cocktails, The Treehouse opened this week at 314 N. Fourth St.
Options include a winning Bloody Mary from Louisiana with fun garnishes and a signature Treehouse Martini. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 11 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
An open floor plan is in the main dining room with seating of 62 chairs. Window seating includes a roll-up garage door with outback outdoor seating around a nine-chair fireplace ring with Treehouse leaves and stools all around and cocktail tables around the bar. It has exclusive window seating overlooking Fourth Street and tables outside in the front for the kids to enjoy while parents are hanging out. Amenities include sports and music TVs.
Owners are Adam Kammarca and Jack Hern with Melissa Colston as general manager. The name Treehouse came from Kammarca building a tree fort for his sons, and he'd hang out there with them.

The Garnet Cafe reopens after fire
Breakfast and lunch are offered at The Garnet Cafe, which reopened last week after closing nine months ago from fire damage.
Located at 3646 Government Way, hours with owners Kristin Von Pill and Paige Fink are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday to Monday and will be daily when fully staffed. Seating is for 106 people at tables, booths and the counter.

• Chili's eatery will close Wednesday. Something interesting will probably go into the obvious building at 482 W. Sunset between U.S. 95 and Fred Meyer.
• Watch for a major development on property at the intersection of Hanley Avenue and Atlas Road.
• Two new buildings for the Local Markets company will open next year at the intersections of Best Avenue and 15th Street in Coeur d'Alene and Highway 41 and Hope Road in Post Falls. What they will offer will be similar to the existing Local Market at Atlas Road and Seltice Way. The Markets will have an emphasis on produce, fresh flowers, coffee and products sourced from local vendors with fresh-made deli sandwiches and pastry bars and premium espresso coffees with drive-throughs. Owned by Andy Singh, the stores are architecturally designed to fit the local landscapes and surrounding communities. They will include gas and electric car charging.
• Windermere Realty closed its Post Falls branch. The top level of the building at 1616 E. Seltice Way is leased, and the lower level is available through Don Smock at 208-664-9221.
• Emran Afghan Kitchen will be where Takara cafe was at 309 Lakeside Ave.
• A Konala eatery will open Aug. 1 in the former Carl's Jr. building at 106 E. Appleway.

• With a summer opening planned, four businesses will occupy the new building under construction at 264 S. Beck Road at State Line. • A proposed Marriott Hotel will be on about a half acre at 602 and 612 E. • A new facility for Peak Health and Wellness Center is under construction at 4425 N. Fennecus Road in Post Falls. It will move in August from 927 E. Polston (Suite 101). The new place will include eight indoor and eight outdoor pickleball courts, strength equipment, cardio and group fitness, a kids club, juice bar, pro shop and full locker room.
• The Goodwill store on Fourth Street will reopen in the summer with a $3 million remodel.
• DOMA Coffee Roasting Company will open a cafe in the 3,000-square-foot main floor in the new building off the Centennial Trail at 3091 S. Atlas Road.
