FIRE: Why weren’t there sprinklers and alarms?

Re: Coeur d’Alene Equipment building Fire

Why in the world didn’t this building have a fire suppression/alarm system? Were building codes somehow circumvented? Someone in code enforcement should be held accountable. There are and have been suppression systems available for years that will not freeze and immediately ring into fire stations in event of a blaze. Who dropped the ball? Millions of dollars of equipment stored in an unsafe building? Taxpayers do not need this happening again.
