The Smelterville woman who had been missing since Sunday night has been found alive, three days after authorities called off the search, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office.

Linda Kent, 62, went missing Sunday while fishing with her family at the Cataldo Boat Launch along the Coeur d'Alene River. Police said she suffers from dementia.

A man found Kent on his ranch around 6 p.m. Thursday, a news release said, several miles from her last known location.

Medical personnel transported Kent to Kootenai Health to be treated for dehydration and to be reunited with her family.

The sheriff's office called off the search for Kent on Monday night, stating the agency had exhausted all available resources, including boats, drones, infrared imaging, helicopters and K-9 units.
