Donald D. Johnson, 71

Donald D. Johnson, 71, of Post Falls, went to the happy hunting place in the sky June 12, 2024. Don was born May 24, 1953, to Wayne and Jerine Johnson in Ione, Wash. Don had five siblings: Linda Franks, Chris Johnson, John Johnson, Ruth Jaeger and Mike Johnson. Don married his wife, Susan Johnson, on Aug. 1, 1992. Don had five children: Sarah (Chad) Jensen, Isaiah and Joe Johnson, Marvin (Heidi) Cunningham, Paul (Janet) Cunningham and 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Don loved hunting dogs, fishing, camping as well as woodwork and canning foods, such as pickles, jams, salsas and beets. He enjoyed gardening and all animals. Don worked in mines and as a logger and in the lumber mills. Don is preceded in death by his father and mother, Wayne and Jerine, stepfather Fred Dupere, stepmother Bernice Johnson, brother John, nephews Chris Franks and Nick, and granddaughter Megan Cunningham.

Don will be dearly missed by family and friends. A celebration of life will be announced later this summer.
