Carr, a sophomore, won the 800-meter dash in 2 minutes, 13.78 seconds, then won the 1,600 in 5:06.58 at the state 3A track and field meet on May 18 at Middleton High. “She did a lot of strength training in the offseason and then we used a mix of interval training sessions and cross training to keep her healthy,” Coeur d’Alene Charter coach Gordon Smith said. “She is very consistent with her training. She listens and applies it well.”
