April Evensizer, 61

April Marie Evensizer, 61, a beloved wife and cherished mother, left this earth to be with her Lord in Heaven on June 13, 2024, at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. No viewing or memorial service will be held.

April was born in Wilmington, Del., on April 10, 1963, to George and Betty (Hineman) Westwood.  She was the youngest of six children and lived with her family in Gloucester Township, N.J. They moved from New Jersey to the family’s ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains of Southern California, along the Mulholland Highway, not too far from Malibu Beach.

The family had, at one time, operated the large ranch as an amusement park which had a small private zoo and a large, manmade lake. The park had been closed by the time April moved there, but she was able to grow up enjoying the freedom and wonder of living on such beautiful property. The family later sold the ranch to actor Peter Strauss, and it is now known as the Peter Strauss Regional Park. 

April grew up very athletic, loving nature and taking trips to the beach. As a young adult, she spent years living in Southern California, never more than a few blocks from the ocean. She later moved to Coeur d’Alene, where she enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities. You could oftentimes find her playing volleyball at the beach. She was an avid runner, always on the go and had a passion for skiing. 

April was so energetic and always saw the good in everything. She had a genuine love for people and always wished the very best for everyone who had been fortunate enough to have met her.  

She leaves behind her husband, Gerry; her daughters, Marie and Ali; and her grandson, Sage. We all love her so much and she will be missed greatly. We love you to the moon and back.
