DOWNTOWN: Keep kindness alive

I’m so heartbroken to hear of the recent derogatory remarks made to the youth of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe and to members of the basketball team from Utah in the downtown streets of Coeur d’Alene, a place I’ve been privileged to call home for the past 35 years, drawn here originally to be a whitewater rafting guide.

I’ve lived in and traveled to many places in the U.S. and the world, and believe me, we live in a spectacular and uniquely beautiful area. I was struck by the friendliness and small-town ambiance when I first moved here. I’m sad to see that change. Please, let us all treat others as we’d like to be. Keep the kindness and friendliness alive!
