Helena R. Chandler-Howell, 83
Helena was born Nov. 25, 1940, in French Camp, Calif., and grew up in the Sacramento and San Francisco area. She went home June 8, 2024, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
She loved to travel when she was younger, including Hawaii and parts of Europe, traveling extensively throughout the west and western Canada. Visiting the beauty of nature and the cultural sites. She also had a weakness for anything sweet. She retired from Pacific Bell after 23 years.
Helena was a member of Real Life Ministries for almost 20 years. She loved Jesus and being with people and she loved Christmas. Every picture of her shows her laughing and enjoying herself with family and friends. She was very sweet, kind and thoughtful. She was a member of the Ladies Birthday Group, at one time a small dance performing group and joined a marimba club. She loved to bake, making beautiful wedding cakes and birthday cakes for family and friends. Helena was always helping those around her. She loved cats, dogs and a host of other animals. She was also a sports nut, watching USA women’s soccer, basketball and football (really just the 49ers). She had an abundance of love, which she shared with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, John Howell; daughter Laurie Adams; son Michael (wife, Maria) Bizzelle; granddaughter Helena; brothers Doug (wife, Mary) Chandler and Don Chandler; grandson Michael Derek (wife, Nicole) Bizzelle; great-grandson Colton; great-granddaughter Reagan; grandson Dylan (wife Cidney) Guthrie; great-grandson Bentley; sisters Pat, Chris and Terra. She is preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Geraldine Chandler.
