Human Rights Education Institute hosting Flag Day event today

| June 14, 2024 1:00 AM

The Human Rights Education Institute will host a Flag Day Fun Day from 10 a.m. to noon today.

The Human Rights Education Institute invites the community to learn about the American flag and its history through interactive and engaging activities for youth of all ages. Discussions will include the history, representation of the colors, proper display, folding techniques and other ways to honor “Old Glory."

The flags of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe and an array of flags from countries around the world will also be explored. Participants will have opportunities to create their own flags representing their families and personal values.

A traditional American picnic-style lunch will be served at noon. A $5 donation is suggested.
