CONVENTION: Thank a Democrat

At this week’s Idaho Republican Party Convention in Coeur d’Alene, we will hear the usual mantra that the nation must be saved from the Democrat socialists, liberals and Marxists. We’ll hear from right-wing MAGA extremists, like Trump-election-denier Kari Lake who aspires to spread her flamethrowing to the U.S. Senate.

We won’t hear from the reasonable, non-insurrectionist Republicans who believe in the Rule of Law.

When we receive their steady diet of worn socialist and liberal labels, remember to thank President Biden for his American Rescue Program infrastructure funding which gave Kootenai County millions for an expanded jail and Ada County nearly a billion to expand Micron and the microchip industry. No cries of socialism in cashing those checks.

While we’re at it, we can thank Democrats for Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Civil Rights Act, Equal Rights Amendment, Clean Water Act, student loan forgiveness for certain students, Voting Rights Act, Consumer Protection Act, and many other laws to help working and retired citizens, not just the wealthy and privileged. 

Republicans like Senator Rick Scott are on record promising to dismantle these programs in 2025 if a convicted felon is elected and they win both chambers of Congress.

Citizens should reject the party of lawlessness and chaos.

Don’t forget to thank a Democrat for that Social Security check.
