Michael Vredenburg, 37
Mike was born a true Idaho boy June 17, 1987, in Coeur d'Alene. He spent his boyhood years camping with his cousins and grandparents and playing in the neighborhood 'til all hours of the night. He was a gifted soccer player who was able to play through college at NIC.
During Mike's freshman year in high school, he hosted a Bible study with friends. Under good leaders and mentorship, Mikey grew in a personal relationship with Jesus.
Nearly 12 years ago, he was injured in a snowboarding accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. When asked if he ever wondered, "Why me?" he answered, "Why not me? Why should I be exempt?"
One of his greatest loves was his nieces and nephews. He had the best time playing games with them and giving rides on his wheelchair, never missing an opportunity to do a wheelie. They returned that love, and he was surely the favorite uncle.
Mikey loved and lived hard and impacted many people in his lifetime. If you had the privilege of knowing him, you experienced the light and joy he exuded.
He is survived by his parents, Chuck and Lee Vredenburg, his brothers, Andy and Danny Vredenburg, his sister and husband Jenny and Adam Narciso, nieces Nina, Elli, Bella and nephews Gabriel, Leo and Wesley.
