HAYDEN — Bombastic Brewing took home four medals earlier this month during the North American Beer Awards.

The craft brewery won gold for Chatter Mexican Lager in the citrus fruit beers category. Bombastic’s Shiver Coffee Stout with Thomas Hammer Coffee took silver in the coffee stout category. Bringing home the bronze were Bombastic’s Murder Mexican Chocolate Imperial Stout in the chocolate cocoa beers category and Psychopomp Maple Bourbon Barrel Aged Coffee Breakfast Imperial Stout in the barrel-aged strong stout category.

Bombastic Brewing was among hundreds of breweries to participate in this year’s competition, which included more than 1,600 entries, according to a press release.

This is Murder’s third bronze award in the North American Beer Awards. Bombastic’s Attempted Murder Vanilla Cinnamon Stout took home the silver medal during the 2021 North American Beer Awards. Bombastic’s 5th Anniversary Barrel Aged Imperial Stout was awarded a gold medal in 2022 by the North American Beer Association in the barrel-aged stouts category.

Four Bombastic beers rated among Idaho’s best earlier this year in the first-ever Untappd Community Awards. Bukwus Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout received the gold medal in Idaho’s imperial/double stout category while the 5th Anniversary Barrel Aged Imperial Stout won bronze in the imperial/double stout category. Puddle Pale Ale with Citra Hops placed third in the pale ale category and Conspiracy Sour Ale earned silver in the sour/fruited category.

Bombastic Brewing’s craft beers are distributed in five states throughout the West — Idaho, Montana, Utah, Nevada and Washington.
