Kilmers to present Argentina travelog

| June 12, 2024 1:06 AM

COEUR d'ALENE — David and Rebecca Kilmer will give a presentation on their recent travels in Argentina on Thursday as part of the Coeur d’Alene Public Library’s Novel Destination series.

In February, the Kilmers spent a month in Argentina, visiting Buenos Aires, the Lake District, southern Patagonia and wine country.

“It was an incredible trip that outdid all our expectations,” David Kilmer said. “We’re looking forward to sharing the journey.”

Highlights of their presentation will include the art and culture of Buenos Aires, the vast mountains and lakes near San Carlos de Bariloche, the dramatic peaks and glaciers of El Calafate and El Chalten and the sumptuous vineyards of Mendoza.

Would-be travelers and armchair adventurers will also learn how the Kilmers navigated the black-market money exchange, learned the proper use of a bidet, found Evita Peron’s final resting place and learned to appreciate the three-hour lunch.

The Kilmers are longtime summer residents of Coeur d’Alene who travel to other destinations in the winter months. David is a captain on Lake Coeur d’Alene and the editor of CdA Magazine and Rebecca is a massage therapist who runs her own spa.

“This will be a fun evening of virtual travel together,” David Kilmer said. “We look forward to seeing you there.”

The presentation is at 7 p.m. at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library. Please consider bringing a donation to the library.
