Coeur d'Alene man dies in crash

A Coeur d'Alene man died in a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning.

James Duncan, 44, was traveling east about 4 a.m. when the vehicle he was driving left Hayden Lake Road near Burley Court and struck a tree, according to a press release from the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office. 

Duncan sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene, the release said.

Speed and intoxication are believed to be factors in the crash, the release said.

An investigation continues.
