PRIDE: Biblical love is unconditional

| June 7, 2024 1:00 AM

Authors of recent LTEs expressing outrage about members of this community who support the Coeur d’Alene Pride event were apparently encouraged to do so by Paul Van Noy of Candlelight Fellowship. The Coeur d’Alene Press has done a great service to the community by publishing these LTEs because they demonstrate important tendencies in our community; ignorance and hate exist, and we need to work on this together.

If the Bible serves as the primary source that helps Christians to figure out how the people of God should live, and the Bible is unconditional love, how can so many followers of Van Noy get this so wrong? Love according to the Bible is unconditional (Romans 13:8), and acceptance does not have strings attached because no one is acceptable to God because everyone falls short of His perfection (Romans 3:23). In other words, life can be more appealing for everyone if we would just live and let live, and love one another.
