Later Saturday, the Thorns beat the Montana Strikers FC BR 6-2, as Kyleigh Rider scored 2 goals, Elle Sousley scored 3, Haighley Viaud one. On Sunday morning, the Thorns fell 1-0 to the Blizzards United. The game was tied 6-6 when Jaxon Burkholder scored the game-winning goal with a strike into the lower left corner. Burkholder scored five goals, Cameron Walton two for the Surf. The Coeur d’Alene Crush softball team took first place in the 14U Gold bracket at the 27th annual Coeur d'Alene Crush tournament last weekend in Post Falls, with a 7-0 record. Ada Blakemore hit a walk-off two-run home run in the ninth inning of the semifinal game for an 8-7 victory over the Spokane Mudhens, securing the Crush's spot in the championship game.
