PRIDE: Event doesn’t represent Coeur d’Alene

| June 5, 2024 1:00 AM

The recent Coeur d’Alene Press headline “Coeur d’Alene Celebrates Pride in the Park” misrepresents many of us in Coeur d’Alene, both as free American citizens and residents.

The blanket statement “Coeur d’Alene Celebrates” implies everyone in Coeur d’Alene approves and promotes this lifestyle. I don’t, because of its physical, mental, emotional and spiritual damage to my family and neighbors. I cannot celebrate their harm as something good.

An accurate headline would be “The LGTBQ Celebrates Pride in the Park.”

Just as “Coeur d’Alene Celebrates The National Day of Prayer in the Park” would not be accurate, so your present headline turns the facts into falsehood.

The newspaper used to report facts for us, the people. So we could make up our own minds and decide. We are citizens.

Please don’t use my name or those of many others in Coeur d’Alene in silent or tacit support of the LGBTQ. Don’t misrepresent us.
