PRIDE: Churches shouldn’t have condoned event

| June 5, 2024 1:00 AM

I went down to the pride event on Saturday to try to preach the Gospel and was appalled by what I saw. There were hundreds of people, and tons of businesses celebrating the LGBTQ+.

However, what was the most outrageous was two churches down there. I want to call them out so that the community knows what they stand for. They are Calvary Lutheran Church and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. I talked to both of them, but it was of no use. They must have used just about every argument I’ve ever heard of in favor of this movement.

These pastors are supposed to be preaching the Gospel and teaching God’s Word, and yet here they are approving of what the Bible calls an abomination (Lev. 18:22) and dishonorable passions (Romans 1:26-27). People who call themselves Christians, and even pastors, are now approving of a practice that was once thought to be shameful and wicked. What has happened to our nation?

Misinterpreting and using different Bible verses in the wrong way can justify anything. God’s word is very clear. He made us Male and Female (Genesis 1:27). He created Adam and Eve for each other, not Adam and Steve (Genesis 2:4-25). According to 1 Corinthians 1:6, those that continue to practice homosexuality without repenting will not inherit the Kingdom of God. So, with that knowledge, isn’t the most loving thing you can do for them is to say that they need to repent? After all, that is how they can get to Heaven, and I want them to be in Heaven with me.

In conclusion, I am calling on those two churches to repent of condoning such sins and instead follow God’s word.
