Debra Ann (Debbie) Machado, 69
Debbie passed away in the arms of Jesus, surrounded by love, May 28, 2024.
Debbie was born Nov. 1, 1954, in Pasadena, Calif., to James Edward Porter I and Margie Ann Porter. Shortly after graduation from West Covina High School, Debbie fell head over heels and married the love of her life, Terrill (Terry) Lee Machado, on Feb. 10, 1973. Once married, they moved to beautiful North Idaho to begin their 51-year love story.
Debbie’s greatest blessing has always been her family. She was an exemplary example of a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend and follower of Jesus. Her life was filled with faith and overflowing love that touched the lives of everyone who crossed her path. She was ALWAYS smiling, laughing, singing, whistling and spreading joy.
Debbie enjoyed spending many years with friends and family at Twin Echo Shores. She also loved dancing, quilting, playing cards, cooking, hiking, family game nights and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Terry; their three children, Kenneth Machado (Jenna), Lee Ann Griffin and Sharman Peterson (Ken); her six grandchildren, Dilan, Rylee, Taylor, Madison, Margie and Milla; her brother, Jim Porter (Linda), and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Words cannot express the depths of our sorrow, but we must always remember John 15:11: “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy will remain in you, and that your joy may be full.”
A service to celebrate Debbie’s life will be held Thursday, June 13, at 11 a.m. at Candlelight Christian Fellowship, 5725 N. Pioneer Drive, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho 83815.
