David Gordon Healy, 79

David Gordon Healy, a proud veteran of the Army, passed away June 22, 2024. 

The son of Edmund Healy and Hazel Healy, David G. Healy grew up in San Francisco, Calif. He was born May 5, 1945, in Boston, Mass., and attended City College in San Francisco, Calif., to achieve his bachelor’s degree in communications.

At the age of 17, David G. Healy enlisted in the U.S. Army. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of E8 Sergeant. As part of this service, an honor guard will perform full military honors for his four years of service in Vietnam, two purple hearts and military commendations.

David Gordon Healy is survived by his son, David H. Healy (spouse Christy), daughter Chandra Greene (spouse Michael), stepson Paul Leinhart (spouse Emily) and stepdaughter Christina DesBouillons (spouse Dennis). Grandchildren: Amanda Engel, David J. Healy, Kayla McCoy and Olivia Thompson. Step-grandchildren: Christy Paige, CJ Christina DesBouillons, Andrea Inman, Andrew Greene and Alex Greene. Great-grandchildren: Tanner, Holly, Alaric, Payton, Adley, Cayde, Urijah, Kane and Kenley. Step-great-grandchild: Faith. And former spouse Elaine Healy.

His loved ones will remember him by what was his most used quote and his life’s resolve, “One day at a time.”

A service honoring the life of David Gordon Healy will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 10, 2024, at Bell Tower Funeral Home: 3398 Jenalan Ave., Post Falls, ID, 83854.
