Gwen fire evacuation levels reduced as containment level increases

The Latah County Sheriff's Office has announced that all evacuation zones for the Gwen Fire have been lowered to Level 1 – "BE READY."
"It is important to remember wildfires are unpredictable and can change in a moment’s notice. We were fortunate to have cooler temperatures and a little bit of rain, but that doesn’t mean fire conditions can’t change. Stay alert and stay aware," the Sheriff's Office shared on their official Facebook page.
Highway 3 and Highway 12 are open at this time, but people are being asked to drive cautiously, as fire crews are still actively working in the area.
