Bonnie Ann Boulton, 92

| July 27, 2024 1:00 AM

Bonnie was born May 17, 1932, in Gothenburg, Neb., to Harm and Edith (Strever) Junker. Bonnie grew up with her family on various Nebraska farms. She was proud of her dad, “a hard worker, farmer, blacksmith and the strongest man in Dawson County.” Born the fifth child to her family of three brothers and three sisters: Harold, Marvin, Donald, Betty, Alice and Violet, she attended a one-room schoolhouse.

Bonnie enjoyed 4-H, riding her bike and walking in the country. As a teenager, she did housework for her neighbors and worked at JCPenney‘s. Around age 16, she attended a Church of Christ in Cozad, Neb., and became a Christian. After that, Jesus was the center of her life.

After graduation, she attended Bible college in Ottumwa, Iowa, where she met Eugene Earl Boulton. They married Aug. 10, 1952, moved into a small apartment and eventually welcomed their first son, Miles, to the family. They later moved to Seattle, Wash., where their other three children: Brian, Craig and Cheryl Ann (Vick) were born. Bonnie and Gene committed their lives to raising a good, Christian family, starting Churches of Christ in the Pacific Northwest and running their business, Boulton’s Office Express, in Bozeman, Mont. Bonnie was a good helpmate to her husband, Gene, until his death in 1998.

Bonnie is survived by her sister, Violet (Denver, Colo.), their four children, two daughters-in-law, Carla (Smith) Boulton and Judy (Pence) Boulton, one son-in-law (Steve Vick) and 49 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, John Daren, (Steve and Cheryl Ann Vick) and a great granddaughter, Bridgett Svea (Shane and Linnea Vick). Bonnie resided in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, at the time of her passing. Her advice to everyone is to “follow Christ."

A viewing will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2024, followed by a funeral service that will be held at 3 p.m. at Yates Funeral Home — Hayden Chapel (373 E. Hayden Ave. Hayden, ID 83835). Please visit Bonnie’s online memorial and sign her guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
