Recreation site parking lots closed for toilet replacement

COEUR d’ALENE — The Idaho Panhandle National Forests on Tuesday announced the parking lot for the English Point Recreation Trails along the northwest shores of Hayden Lake and the parking lots for the Fourth of July Pass Nordic Trailhead and the Mullan Tree Trailhead at Fourth of July Pass will be closed Tuesday to Saturday.
The closures will allow for the safe pumping and demolition of existing vault toilets and installation of new vault toilets at these three sites, a press release said.
The work will involve heavy equipment operation in the areas and significant construction activity.
"The work may cause unsafe conditions associated with the demolition and construction, necessitating the closure," the release said.
