A team captain, Hartzell was a catalyst for her team as a leader and anchor of a midfield that led the team to the U.S. Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup title last week in Wichita, Kan.  She scored a critical goal in the final group play game that ensured the team would advance to the semifinals. "She was a force in the midfield, defensively shutting down the opponents' high-powered midfield and starting the attack for her team in the semifinal and championship," Thorns coach Mark Plakorus said. "Her leadership and competitive drive were critical to her team winning the championship."
