MY TURN: Response to Brent Regan’s “Opinion: Trifecta of lies”

President Biden’s “performance” at the presidential debate was sub-par because he was suffering from a severe cold. You can tell if he is not feeling well by his stuttering, which, when well and rested, he controls.

As far as being lied to by the media, Fox (Entertainment media) has been adjudicated to have done exactly that in their “Stop the Steal” efforts in support of our former president and convicted felon, Donald J. Trump.

Mr. Regan projects and attempts to gaslight when he suggests that the Democrats are responsible for creating many hoaxes. No, that’s what the Retrumplicans have done. Russian collusion was proven to have happened. Trump did suggest injecting bleach during a Covid 19 televised presentation. Trump did say that fine people existed on both sides during the Charlottesville situation. Clips are readily available to hear these very words spoken by Mr. Trump, if you missed them the first time around. Obviously, if Mr. Regan has seen behind the curtain, his blinders were decidedly darkened and securely affixed to his head, restricting his vision of the truth.

Democrats have not had to resort to law-fare, etc., to convince voters of what a threat Trump is to America. Democrats have had nothing to do with the E. Jean Carrol case, classified documents found in Mar-a-Lago, the New York business fraud/porn star hush money. Trump has been convicted in New York by a jury of his peers, after the case was brought by the state of New York without any Democrat input or interference. To suggest otherwise is patently absurd and defames our system of justice.

Talk about deeply brainwashed! Trump’s MAGA supporters seem to believe every lie that falls out of Trump's mouth!

Mr. Regan is accusing the Democrats of exactly what the Republicans have done. Trump, while president, weaponized the justice system when he used Attorney General Bill Barr to pursue his perceived enemies.

If anyone doubts that Trump is a threat to America and our way of life, I suggest they read the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 and Agenda 47. If these proposals are implemented, America will become a dictatorship like Russia, Hungary or North Korea. That is truly fearful and a threat to all of us!

On Jan. 6, 2021, Trump incited a large group of followers to stage an attack on our Capitol. Since the Supreme Court has recently elevated the office of president to king, and therefor, above the law, it is unlikely that Trump will ever be tried for this crime — an attempted coup in order to stay in power.

As to the recent horrific assassination attempt, the would-be assassin was a registered Republican. It is doubtful that any Democratic rhetoric had an impact on this obviously disturbed young man. Democratic “social engineering” did not occur here.

As usual, Mr. Regan is accusing Democrats of exactly what the Republicans have been, and are, doing. This does nothing to unite our country. It doesn’t take much sense, common or otherwise, to see how divisive these activities are to the future of our great nation.
